Animator V2 Editing Basics
Presents the basic information needed to use the Animator V2 as a COBOL editor.
 
Getting Started

Functionality and benefits of the Animator V2 as an editing tool.  Accessing the Animator V2 from the Advanced Organizer.  Using the work area of the Animator V2 screen.
 
Editing Files

Loading and merging files.  How to insert, delete, repeat, and restore individual lines of text.  How to copy, move, and delete blocks of text. Exiting the Animator V2.
 
Working with Multiple Windows

Improving efficiency using multiple edit mode windows.  Managing multiple windows.  Saving and closing multiple windows.

Syntax Checking and Query Operations
Introduces syntax checking features available within Animator V2.  Covers how to use COBOL Source Information features to perform queries.
 
The Check Tool

Benefits of the Check tool.  Specifying the Compiler Directives for the Check tool.  Using the Check tool to syntax check a COBOL program.  Interpreting and navigating through syntax errors.
 
COBOL Source Information

Setting up a program to use the CSI options.  Using the Find window to perform basic queries and improve program efficiency.  Controlling display of query results.  Using wildcards and tags.
