The Workbench Environment

Installation considerations.  Character set differences.  File handling.  Operating system control.  COBOL dialects.

The Workbench Desktop
Explains the Advanced Organizer design and how it is used.  Shows how to customize the Workbench desktop.  Describes how to use the On-Line help.

Interface options.  Advantages of the GUI.  Limitations.

Design standards.  The object-oriented design.  Customizing the Advanced Organizer.  The On-Line reference.

The Advanced Organizer Components
Describes the Template and how it is used.  Demonstrates how to customize a template object.  Explains specific tools and how they are used.  Discusses how to create and use an application.
 
Overview of the Advanced Organizer Components

The Template and its objects.  Using the Template to create new objects.  Configuring objects.  Using a definition file.
 
The Tool Component

Overview of Advanced Organizer tools.  Features of the Animator V2, Directory Facility V2 and the File Transfer Aid.  Special tools used in the development cycle.  Mainframe support tools.

Defining an application.  Using the Details View window to access tools.
