Diana Mine

Operated during its early history by Gem Lake Mines Ltd., this mine was later the property of Diana Gold Mines Ltd.

The mineralized quartz veins at this locality are in shear zones which cut gabbro. The sulphide minerals are pyrite and pyrrhotite, with lesser amounts chalcopyrite, arsenopyrite, sphalerite and galena; free gold was seen in dump material. Ankerite, calcite, chlorite and minor tourmaline are present in the veins as gangue minerals. The sheared wall rock has undergone chlorite-carbonate-pyrite alteration.
