This New Jersey noise-core band created quite a stir with their debut CD EP '3 Minutes To Sanity' , on their indie label, Grade C But Edible Records. This, with strong sales, good reviews and an intense following in the NJ/NYC area, Grizzle has received shows at CBGB, CONNECTIONS, LOVE SEXY, BRIGHTON BAR AND CLUB BENE. GRIZZLE has signed with new indie label J-BIRD RECORDS and will have their Debut Full Length CD out in Feb' 97 called 'Fly You Fat Bastard'. So be on the look out for this metallic beast to prove that New Jersey is not just for Glam or Cover bands anymore.

Formed by Steven Henry(guitar/vocals) who came to Montreal during 1993 and met Michel Brisebois(vocals) then soon after Yan Thiel(bass) & Felipe Quinzanos(guitar) joined in the middle of '94. At the same time, the quartet decided to name the band NEURAXIS. After a while the band decided to adopt a drum machine in early '95 due to the shortage of good drummers. The band was ready to make their first appearance in April of '95. The band played five shows without a real drummer. Even if the acceptance from the audience seemed positive. In search of more distinction, Michel(now with AGONY) was replaced by Maynard Moore in July of '95. After few auditions, Mathieu Royal seemed to be the perfect candidate as a drummer, he was accepted in September '95. Something was still missing. They wanted a guitarist that was more in the direction they were leanning in. Felipe left in November of '96 and is now replaced by Robin Milley. Finally the formation is complete. The earlier orientation of the band was more like Cannibal Corpse, Deicide, Carcass, Suffocation but evolved to more of a european style like Eucharist, Dissection, Necrophobic, In Flames and At the gates. Rob is a progresive/european guitarist with influences such as Death, Cynic, Megadeth, Dissection, Dark Tranquility and fuses it with Steven's influences like Jason Becker, Tony MacAlpine, Satriani, Malmsteen, Vivaldi and Scarlatti. Yan likes almost everything and manages to create his own stylistic bass lines. Mathieu performes in a Ken Owenish(Carcass) style with more of a progressive jazz beat. Maynard's multitude of vocals will supprise most with his eerie shrieks to his powerfull low voice and regurgitating noises. The open mindedness of the band and directionnal attitude gives a new way of percieving the extreme music. Neuraxis signed with NEOBLAST PRODUCTIONS. The new 12 song CD entitled "Imagery" will be unleashed in '97 along with many other plans like new t-shirts, live appearences...the best is yet to come !!! |
